Equipment: Fencers must wear safe, correct kit that conforms to CEN level 1, and British Fencing rules. Breeches are compulsory. All under 10s must use size 0 blades. Under 12 and 14 foilists must use size 3 or smaller. Under 12 and 14 epeeists must use size 2 or smaller. Lame bibs are required for all foilists competing with a size 5 blade. Neither British Fencing, Kingstone High School, Hereford Fencing Centre, the organisers of the competition, nor any official or referee involved in the competition is responsible for these matters, or for any accident, loss or damage to persons or property however caused.

BFA: Membership of the British Fencing Association is compulsory. If a BFA number is not included on the entry form we receive please bring evidence of your membership. Guidance on the new BFA membership can be found here: https://www.britishfencing.com/members/membership-info/membership-types/ . In line with the new BFA membership system, all competing must have a ‘Compete’ level membership. We are not able to accept starter or recreational level memberships.

Referees: The organisers would be very grateful for any assistance that can be provided in terms of referees and setting up. Please get in touch if you are able to assist.

Safety: Whilst HWCFU make every attempt to ensure that the event takes places safely in a safe and secure way, the responsibility for the safety and welfare of young fencers remains with the parent, or nominated responsible adult who is acting in loco parentis for that child. If you, as a parent or coach, bring a child to this event and leave them during the day, you must make sure the organisers are aware of the identity of the responsible adult who is looking after that child.

Welfare Office: Sophie Robinson and Tania Craig

County: Boundaries in Hereford & Worcester are often fluid as many coaches and fencers fence and reside within different counties. The organisers are happy to accept entries from fencers with a connection to Hereford and Worcester through coach, school, club or address.
